Presentation Outline

Remaining true to source documents, meeting deadlines and writing effectively in the voice your field are all essential to doing successful translations and keeping happy clients. Those things aside, freelance translators generally are paid by how much they produce, and many of us work to maximize that amount. In this presentation, I will share with you some shortcuts that will improve your throughput and ultimately, allow you to make more money.

Speaker Introduction

Jeff Loucks arrived in Japan in 1988, and has lived here for most of the time since. Although holding degrees in economics and mechanical engineering, he applies them only peripherally. In Japan, Jeff has taught English (while studying Japanese) and owned and managed companies in public relations and subculture Japanese music publishing, as well as translation. Jeff now devotes himself full time to expanding his translation company, No Moss, which does mostly J-E translation of investor relations materials. Right now, he also does much of the translation himself.
